Our Wedding
Where
The church and the venue will be at the Argithea Winery on the outskirts of Athens.
The ceremony will take place in a chapel just outside the winery, with the reception to take place within the winery.
When
The ceremony will start at 18:00. Please arrive from 17:30 so we can start promptly at 18:00.
It will be rush hour in Athens from 17:00-18:00, therefore expect journeys to take 30-45 minutes longer depending on where you start your journey, so please bear that in mind if you are making your own way to the wedding. Google maps provides an accurate estimation of live delays.
Refreshments will be available prior to the ceremony and restroom facilities will be available for your convenience.
How to get there / Parking
The Argithea Winery is on the Eastern side of Athens, reasonably close to Athens airport. [see below]
It is located outside the city and therefore the only easy transport to the venue is via car or taxi.
Consequently, we will be organising some transport (likely a mini-bus) to pick-up our guests from 1-2 designated locations depending on where the majority of our guests stay. Additionally, we’ll be organising some transport to return guests to the city centre at different times throughout the evening. Once we have a better understanding of total number of guests from RSVPs and where everyone is located, we’ll be able to plan this transport and will provide some updated information.
For those choosing to drive or come via their own organised transport, there is free valet parking in the venue.
Theme
Our wedding will be primarily a traditional Greek wedding, but we’ve added some English traditions to reflect the union of two cultures.
For those unfamiliar with a traditional Orthodox Greek service, a small booklet will be made available on the day, so you can learn about the key features of the service.
Timeline
Below is an outline of our itinerary for our Wedding and will hopefully provide you with an indication of all the different aspects of the evening.
